Anchorage Mayor's Prayer BreakFast

The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is a gathering of Christians to corporately pray for their city in obedience to the biblical injunction of 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
 

The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is not sponsored by the government but operates as a non-profit and non-political entity, refraining from any attempts to influence legislation or engage in political activities. Its core objectives are

 

1. Engaging in corporate prayer for the mayor, those in authority, the entire Anchorage muni, state of Alaska and the nation

 

2. Educating Christians about their spiritual and civic role in ensuring good governance and peace throughout the entire city. This includes promoting Christian core values and empowering Christians to recognize the significance of their role in community development

 

3. Encouraging Christian benevolence and care for our neighbors in need through active support and participation in local nonprofit and community service organizations.
